Glens of Antrim 2010

Hi and welcome to information about The Glens of Antrim 100KM Charity Cycling Challenge. This is your opportunity to Make a Difference Worldwide.  We invite you to take part in a well organized and published event and also present you with an opportunity to win one of the Prize Draws donated by our main sponsors STENA LINE.  This is the second  year of the event (see last years pictures),and all funds raised will purchase building materials for a Multi-Purpose Care Centre helping Orphan Children in Malawi.

The Challenge takes place on Saturday 3rd July, starting at 10.30am from Larne Youth Club Rooms (Sandy Bay), which offers ample car parking and changing facilities.  The route follows the Antrim Coast Road which has some of the most spectacular scenery in Ireland.  As the road meanders through the little villages, each turn brings another view of the Glens of Antrim, where some of Ireland’s most scenic coastal views are to be found.  The halfway stage is in the beautiful village of Cushendun where you will be provided with some lunch before embarking on the return to Larne on the same Coast Road. This will give you another opportunity to see the beauty of the area but from a different perspective.

A Family Fun Day has also been organized as part of our fundraising attempt, working with the local community in Cushendun www.cushenduncdda.co.uk

The event is not a race but a “Challenge” and open to all who have a reasonable level of fitness. This event takes place on public roads and therefore road safety is a priority.
